Manchester City have knocked back an initial offer from Barcelona for Rodri that is considered far too low.

Barcelona's initial offer - which Manchester City rejected - was worth in the region of £40m. City are seeking upwards of £60m for the 30-year-old midfielder, who has entered the final year of his deal.

Talks over a deal have therefore halted for now.

Barcelona are not giving up on Rodri by any means. Plans are in motion for another offer to go in at some point in coming days. Sources in Spain believe Rodri would prefer a move to Barcelona over Real Madrid.

City do not want to sell Spain's World Cup-winning captain and instead want to agree a new contract with him.

If Rodri asks to leave, however, then they would not stand in his way.

Man City and Barcelona have agreed a £65.4m fee for Rodri.

The Spain World Cup winner and former Ballon d'Or holder, who helped City to four Premier League titles and a Champions League triumph, will now head to Barcelona to complete his transfer after seven seasons in Manchester.

The 30-year-old had one year left on his contract and while Man City wanted him to stay and sign an extension, Barcelona's third offer proved to be too good to turn down. He has agreed a four-year deal with Barcelona.

You can understand Rodri not wanting to play in the Championship tbh. :ROFLMAO:

Manchester City have announced that Tijjani Reijnders has completed a move to Saudi Pro League side Al Qadsiah.

The Dutchman leaves on a permanent deal after City accepted an offer of around £51million.

Reijnders spent just a single season at the Etihad Stadium, making 50 appearances and scoring seven goals after his £46.5m arrival from AC Milan last summer.

His departure continues a summer of upheaval at City following the departures of manager Pep Guardiola alongside senior players Rodri, John Stones, Bernardo Silva and Nathan Ake.

Tottenham Hotspur have agreed an £85m deal with Manchester City to sign Savinho.

Spurs will pay an initial £75m for the Brazil international, with a further £10m available in add-ons.

It is understood £5m of the potential bonuses are effectively guaranteed, meaning City could receive at least £80m from the deal.

Savinho is set to undergo a medical ahead of completing his move to north London.

Spurs are also continuing talks with Manchester City over a separate deal for striker Omar Marmoush as they look to strengthen their attacking options further.

Manchester City have agreed a deal with Lille for Morocco international midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi worth up to £86m (€100m).

City are paying a fixed fee of £81.3m plus £4.3m in add-ons.

The 18-year-old is set to become the most expensive teenage signing in Premier League history, surpassing the £58.9m Manchester United committed to paying Lille for Leny Yoro in 2024.

Tottenham have confirmed the signing of Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush on an initial loan.

Sky Sports News understands a £60m obligation to buy has been inserted in the deal and the fee is split into a £50m guaranteed payment, plus £10m in add-ons.

Manchester City have signed winger Allan Elias from Palmeiras in a deal worth up to £34.2m.

City have paid an initial £32m plus £2.2m in add-ons for the 22-year-old Brazilian, who has signed a five-year contract.

Allan is a direct replacement for compatriot Savio, who completed a £75m move to Tottenham Hotspur last week.

The right-sided winger scored nine goals and provided 12 assists in 96 appearances in all competitions for Brazilian top-flight side Palmeiras after progressing through the club's youth system.

"This is a surreal moment for me. Manchester City, with everything they have won over the past 15 years, are one of the most attractive clubs in the world for players," Allan said.

"To be able to sit here today and say I have joined them is the proudest moment of my life.

"I love Palmeiras and always will - but the decision to come to City was an easy one. I want to be the best footballer I can be and the conversations I've had with the people at City so far has convinced me there isn't a better place for me to fulfil my ambitions."

Manchester City have agreed a £65m deal with Everton for winger Iliman Ndiaye as an alternative to Cody Gakpo.

With contact already established between City and Everton over Jack Grealish, discussions have moved swiftly.

City's deal is broken up into a £60m guaranteed payment plus £5m in bonuses.

Everton have agreed a deal for Jack Grealish to return to the club on a season-long loan from Manchester City

The 30-year-old is set for a medical at the Toffees, with his move expected to be completed before Tuesday's 23:00 BST transfer deadline.

Grealish spent a large chunk of last term at Everton under a similar arrangement, scoring twice and providing six assists in 20 appearances, before sustaining a season-ending foot injury in January.

Manchester City have agreed to pay a joint-British transfer record fee of £125m for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez.

Fernandez joined Chelsea from Benfica in 2023 for a then-British record fee of £107m, with his latest switch matching the £125m that Liverpool paid for Alexander Isak last summer.

The clubs have been negotiating over the past 24 hours and have now reached an agreement.

Fernandez will now undergo a medical ahead of signing a long-term deal at the Etihad Stadium. Personal terms will not be an issue.

An independent tribunal has reached decisions in Manchester City's 115 charges case, according to reports.

The reports claim that most of the charges were found to have been proven.

Reports understand that the process is moving to the appeal stage.

The Premier League is not commenting as this is a private and confidential process. It will not be providing any guidance.

A Manchester City spokesperson said: "The Premier League process remains ongoing, with significant elements to be completed, and subject to strict confidentiality. As such Manchester City FC's position remains consistent with the club's statement of February 2023.

"The club has diligently respected due process for eight years on the basis that the Premier League Board and Executive would behave as an independent, impartial and fair-minded regulator, free from partisan influence."

The potential punishments that City  could face if found guilty are severe. The independent commission overseeing the case has the authority to impose a points deduction in the Premier League, similar to what Everton received in 2024. In more extreme cases, expulsion from the top-flight could also be on the table. Other possible consequences include suspending the club from playing league matches, ordering compensation, canceling player registrations, or imposing conditional punishments.

The commission may also make additional orders as it sees fit, raising questions about the potential reassignment of historical trophies won by Manchester City. It is clear that even a single proven charge resulting in a 10-point deduction, which is already a record-breaking penalty in the Premier League, would pale in comparison to the 115 charges against Manchester City.

In February 2023, City were charged and referred to an independent commission over alleged breaches that were said to have taken place between 2009 and 2018.

The charges - relating to Premier League financial rules - are:
  • 54 x failure to provide accurate financial information from 2009-10 to 2017-18.
  • 14 x failure to provide accurate details for player and manager payments from 2009-10 to 2017-18.
  • 5 x failure to comply with Uefa's rules including financial fair play (FFP) 2013-14 to 2017-18.
  • 7 x breaching Premier League profit and sustainability (PSR) rules from 2015-16 to 2017-18.
  • 35 x failure to co-operate with Premier League investigations from December 2018 to Feb 2023.
City have always denied wrongdoing and it was expected they would appeal were they found guilty.
